Digiskills: An Overview

Digiskills is a government-owned online platform that offers freelancing services all over Pakistan. The platform was initiated by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (Wikipedia) in 2018 and is being managed by the Virtual University of Pakistan.

What Made Me Interested in It

I was done with my BS and was doing online content writing when my mother came from an IT seminar hosted in the Raheel Sharif Auditorium. She seemed to agree that this is something I should do initially I resisted to join the IT course being conducted on the Iqbal campus in Gujranwala, but then I gave into my mom's decision, and from December till now I have seen the plant of my skills blooming into a deep-rooted tree.

What I Have Learned So Far

The starting phase of the course revolved around covering the basics because our batch had members from different age groups, starting from fifth grade to married individuals. Later on, the focus was on establishing a social media presence. Here, we made our accounts on

We also created accounts and gigs on Fiverr. Other than that, we delve into various projects and applications to help create a digital presence.

Main Course

I chose graphic design as my main course, along with the fundamentals of freelancing, as I believed that I have that blend of creativity and discipline that is primary for graphics.

What Opportunities This Course Has Presented

This course has proven to be beneficial for me, as the internship offered through this platform helps meet my extra expenses for the month. I also learn new things every day. Being part of this course I  know have access to Canva Pro.
